This online gallery features the five shortlisted teams’ design concepts in the two-stage open competition to create a memorial masterplan to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s extraordinary life of service.
The Queen Elizabeth Memorial Committee and the Cabinet Office welcomed feedback on the designs shown. Please note that the feedback window has now closed. We appreciate all of the responses submitted. Your feedback collected by Ipsos will help advise the Selection Panel in the next stages. You can continue to access information about the finalists’ designs through this gallery.
The finalist teams were selected from an excellent set of submissions that included a wide range of creative talent.
The design brief sought concepts for an emotionally powerful place and a space for pause and reflection, which is sensitive to the site within the Grade I listed St James’s Park. The memorial is envisaged to be a new national landmark of outstanding quality to honour and celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s unique qualities and values.
These competing masterplan designs will also be assessed against wider criteria, including value for money, placemaking and visitor experience.
The winning design team will be announced in Summer 2025 after the Evaluation Panel reviews the finalists’ concepts. A related search for a sculptor to work with the winning design team on the memorial’s figurative representation of her Late Majesty will conclude later this year.
