Professor Robert Mull

Architect, Former Director of Architecture and Dean of the Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture and Design, and Trustee of the Architecture Foundation

An architect and an educator, Prof Robert Mull was until recently Director of Architecture and Dean of the Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture and Design (affectionately dubbed the Aldgate Bauhaus) in London. He has taught widely in the UK and internationally and held visiting professorships in Vienna and Innsbruck. In 2013 he co-founded a new school of architecture in Moscow. A member of the architecture collective NATO, he has always been committed to socially useful forms of practice and education and has initiated and/or supported projects in places as diverse as Cuba, India, Kosovo, Nepal, Russia, Greece and locally in London. He leads the Free Unit which empowers students to complete self-directed and live projects within an academic environment. He is a trustee of the Architecture Foundation and co-curator of the series of debates 'Turncoats'. Currently his own practice is working on housing and migration issues in Lesvos and Calais.
